Muireann’s musical journey began at the age of nine when her father started teaching her guitar. In 2020, her talent caught the attention of Josh Rosenthal of Tompkins Square Records after he discovered her on YouTube. This led to the recording of her debut album, "I Kept These Old Blues," which was released in December 2023 to rave reviews.
The album quickly rose to number 1 on the Amazon UK download chart and broke into the top 10 on the UK iTunes chart, as well as the Amazon New Folk Music Chart in the U.S. Hard copies of the album have been selling out, leading to multiple pressings due to high demand.
Muireann’s live performances have captivated audiences, earning her a standing ovation on Jools Holland’s annual New Year’s Eve Hootenanny. She has also performed live sessions for Highland Radio, BBC Radio 2 Blues Show with Cerys Matthews, BBC Radio Ulster’s Stephen McCauley Show, and RTE Radio 1’s Mise Sessions with Ray Cuddihy. Additionally, she has appeared on The Late Late Show and filmed sessions for Other Voices Anam in Ormond Castle and Acoustic Guitar Magazine.
In recognition of her outstanding talent, Muireann received the Ticketmaster Rising Star Award
and was voted Most Promising Act in the Hot Press Reader's Poll in 2024.
Muireann’s online performances have garnered over 2 million views, and her Irish and UK gigs
continue to sell out, solidifying her status as a rising star in the folk and blues scene.
