IDER is an English singer-songwriter duo hailing from London, composed of friends Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville. Known for their "cross-genre" sound, IDER seamlessly blends elements from various musical styles, creating a unique and compelling sonic experience. Formed in 2016 after meeting at Falmouth University, the duo quickly established a strong creative bond, evolving from their early acoustic folk project "Lily & Meg" into the more eclectic and genre-defying IDER.
Their debut EP, Gut Me Like an Animal, was released in 2017, followed by their first full-length album, Emotional Education, in 2019. Drawing inspiration from a wide array of artists, including Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and Beyoncé, IDER's music is characterized by their harmonized vocals and innovative production. Since their inception, the duo has continued to captivate audiences with their introspective lyrics and genre-blurring sound.
