Crywank x johnny foreigner
This co-headliner show brings together two legendary DIY bands from the UK’s alternative scene: Crywank and johnny foreigner.
Crywank
Crywank is a Manchester-based three-piece anti-folk band renowned for their blend of raw, self-deprecating humor and emotional vulnerability. Beginning in 2009 as Jay Clayton’s solo project, the band has evolved into a powerful trio with percussionist Dan Watson and bassist Jules Noel (aka Guard Petal). Their discography spans lo-fi heartbreak anthems like James Is Going to Die Soon and biting explorations of self-reflection in Tomorrow Is Nearly Yesterday and Everyday Is Stupid. Despite announcing a breakup in 2019, Crywank has reunited stronger than ever, promising their signature mix of sad and silly songs that resonate deeply with fans.
johnny foreigner
Joining them is johnny foreigner, a Birmingham-based indie rock collective celebrated for their frenetic energy and genre-blurring sound. With six studio albums under their belt—including fan favorites Waited Up 'til It Was Light and the 2024 comeback record How to Be Hopeful—they’ve earned a reputation for delivering electrifying performances. Comprising Alexei Berrow (vocals/guitar), Kelly Parker (bass/vocals), Junior Elvis Washington Laidley (drums), and Lewes Herriot (guitar/art), johnny foreigner captures a sense of joyful chaos while crafting deeply emotive and intricately layered songs.
